Sierra Leone, a small republic in West Africa, is scarred by desperate poverty – yet the country has an abundance of natural resources such as diamonds that do not benefit its people. In 2008, we decided to support Shannoh Kandoh, who set up the Goderich Waldorf School to provide the children of the slums with free education, food – and also appreciation and affection.
We at Rivoir cover the running costs of the school. After our visit in November 2008 we established an additional private project called “Fill-the-Pot”. Thanks to that the children can study on a full stomach.
